Web3 is the next-generation Internet made possible by blockchain technology. If web1 = read-only and web2 = read-write, then web3 = read-write-own.
Many friends have asked me how to get started and stay up-to-date on web3. Here’s my running list of favorite web3 resources.
Regular Reading
🗞 Pulse of Web3
Web3 is moving so fast, it can be overwhelming to stay abreast of everything. My favorite sources for keeping up:
- Decrypt - leading web3 news site (ie. TechCrunch, but for web3)
- Axios Crypto - approachable crypto newsletter for mainstream readers
- TLDR Crypto - daily web3 / crypto email newsletter
- Milk Road - another daily web3 / crypto Substack newsletter
- Twitter - of course the best source of all for the unfiltered real-time pulse
🧵 Favorite Web3 Publications
It’s worth subscribing to these Substacks / Mirrors / Mediums for deeper pieces that make you think:
- Not Boring - Packy McCormick writes some of the best thought pieces on web3
- Cobie - quite a character and doesn’t publish often, but when he does it’s worth reading
- Polynya - leading blockchain giga-brain, all pieces also basically a must-read
- Darkstar DAO - Mirror publication with great thought pieces on web3 x culture
- Works in Progress - The Atlantic meets web3, online magazine by Friends with Benefits (web3 community x social tokens)
